Prince of the Saiyajins. Super Saiyajin Vegeta prepares to launch his Big Bang Attack.
Day 70 The Guile Freeze
The one move that ruined everything for Street Fighters.
It’s a glitch that when certain moves are executed in sequence, Guile freezes in this pose and is invulnerable to everything! Until the Guile player decides to unlock it with a Somersault Kick to his frustrated opponents face.
Then he does the freeze again. And waits for you to move in closer or for the time to run out.
Makes you want to Somersault Kick the Guile player in real life.
Day 68 and Day 69 Alex vs Hugo
I always hated using grappler characters in fighting games.
I couldn’t get close enough because they were slow. I couldn’t do their high damage attacks because of the huge motions that needed to be done quickly. I always end up either dead from a distance or accidentally jumping as i executed the throw.
I was able to improve later on though. =) Started using Alex with little success. Then i turned to Hugo.
I’m still not any good with grapplers but I’m a fan of these two. Especially when they face off against each other.
Day 67 Sagat
Originally the Boss Character for Street Fighter, later on demoted to the guy before the final boss in Street Fighter II.
Humilitated by his defeat in Ryu’s hands (it’s all about Ryu) that took his eye and left him a big scar on his chest. He practiced endlessly to find a technique that rivaled the Dragon Punch. The result was a more powerful Tiger Uppercut.
When he became a useable character i quickly picked him out as my character, finally i could face off with Ryu and Ken with a more powerful Tiger Uppercut.
But apparently, this move had a drawback. I didn’t have invulnerability of the Dragon Punch as it was being executed. That coupled with my reckless gameplay and lack of more experience resulted in a lot of funny moments for Sagat.
Knocking out an opponent with the Tiger uppercut as i got hit… got a slow motion of Sagat’s hit animation… or throwing up animation. Getting myself KO’ed as i did the Tiger Uppercut with a lame flying knee or a quick low jab.
Still Sagat looks real Bad ass even if he’s wearing nothing but shorts and an eyepatch. =p
Day 65 Chun Li
The strongest woman in the world and the fantasy of all arcaders. =) Hahaha. It’s so geeky but it is hard to beat a Chun Li player because you’re watching her jump around and wait for her to execute the inverted Bird Kick and the Lightning Kick.
I was able to hold a 7 winning streak in my early days of Street Fighter using Chun Li. No doubt my opponents were too busy watching her.
And they didn’t know how to a block low strong kick if attacked from behind after a jump. Those were the days i could only last for up to 3 computer opponents or til Ken was the next character. Beating 7 people in a row made me feel like such a big shot.
Then I was finally beaten by… who else… Ryu. But I was very happy going home with my 7 straight Chun Li victories.
What a nerd! =P
Day 63 Makoto
Makoto, from what i remember, is a follower of Ryu. She, who really looks like a boy, packs a really mean punch. And i’ve abused that punch and her choke hold to the point that i made a friend stand up and physically leave out of frustration.
Oh, and i love one of her particular special attacks where in she performs a Rider Kick/Maximum Spider and goes on to beat the opponent senseless. She finishes it off with an uppercut that sends the opponent flying up and off screen while she says the name of the technique. Then you watch the guy come back down to earth. Hard.
